Pre-service teachers’ preparation program: Is it responsive to the constructivist school curriculum?

There seems to be a mismatch between the requirements of schools and how educators are being trained in educator training institutions with regard use constructivist approaches. This article focuses on degree which student teachers were exposed principles during training. The study draws experiences second-year at one institution Zimbabwe. Questionnaires observations used collect data. findings focused four aspects constructivism: teachers’ level interaction; involving students planning learning assessment activities; connecting applying mathematics science real-life situation; accommodating students’ views. might have some implications program designers especially aspect aligning their teaching approaches as required by school curriculum. results this can help designing effective professional development courses well improvement instruction content delivery. recommends that involved taught.
